The tenders for the left bank were issued three months ago and opened recently. But we did not get the desired response. Not a single company pitched, so tenders will be issued again. Work on the right bank of the Mula-Mutha will start soon. Seven companies have qualified for this work,” he said
The pre-qualification tenders are to be submitted by July 15
The standing committee in 2017 had approved a proposal regarding formation of special purpose vehicle company for the rejuvenation under the ‘Abatement of pollution in the Mula-Mutha rivers’ project. The Union government has funded this project with help from an international funding agency. Around Rs 1,000 crore will be spent on the project scheduled to be completed by January 2022
It includes laying of 113.6km of sewer lines, construction of 11 new sewage treatment plants which will increase the treatment capacity by 396 million litre per day, renovation of four existing intermediate
pumping stations and installation of a system for centralized monitoring of the STPs. Work on three STPs has already started
